Students will be introduced to a variety of techniques and processes involved in making two-dimensional and three-dimensional art,
as a prerequisite to Drawing and Painting and Sculpture and Ceramics. Using drawing, painting, and sculpting techniques, emphasis will be placed on how the
elements of art, the principles of design, and aesthetics work together in the creation of expressive, well-crafted compositions.
Students will gain a solid foundation, enabling them to express their ideas, recognize their personal visual language and realize their
own creative potential. The use of various art media will be explored, including charcoal pencils, paint,
printmaking, wire, and found objects.
